From my experience, websites with a simple clear design with very few graphics are the most inviting. Naturally there are exceptions and it all depends on what your organization is about. nonprofit sites: If you are accepting direct donations, the link should be displayed clearly on the home page. When I go to nonprofit sites specifically to donate money, I'm always happy when the "donate money" option is shown clearly on the front page. If I have to start digging around the site to find a way to donate money I might get discouraged and leave. Examples of sites that clearly offer
direct donations: The same goes for the other programs that you might be promoting in order to raise money. A clear link to your shopping mall (if you have one) is very important. You might decide to have a link on the side of your page that says "How Can I Help?" that will link to a separate page that lists all of the fundraising efforts that you are making. The key is to keep the site design simple and appealing to the eye. Your cause should be clearly stated, and your fundraising efforts should be easily accessible.
